Chinese Feel Free to Say Things Online They Wouldn’t Say in Person

Even though the Chinese government restricts Internet usage, China still has the largest number of Internet users ― nearly 298 million ― according to the BBC. The vast majority (73%) of Chinese report they feel “free to say and do things online (that I wouldn’t do or say offline).” Only 32 percent of United States Internet users say they feel free to say and do things on the Internet they wouldn’t say or do in person.
