In recent years, some have questioned whether Boomers are actively using social technologies like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.  In January 2010, Continuum Crew, an interactive advertising agency focusing on mature adults, produced a study indicating that Boomers are not only actively using social technologies, but a key segment -- what it calls "Social Media Mavens" are highly active and influential. Key results of this study include:

  • Boomers are devoting increasing amounts of time to the Internet
  • Older Boomers are much more likely to read newspapers and magazines
  • Many Boomers have joined social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace
