In what it is billing as the first study of its kind, the U.S. African Chamber of Commerce has released a detailed study of the U.S. African market. The research report provides critical information about this untapped market. For example:

  • Half of study respondents "strongly agree" that Africans are completely different from
    African Americans
  • Many believe that Africans are portrayed negatively in American media -- the media focuses on poverty and disease rather than normal life in Africa
  • 72% of respondents are heavy users of e-mail and instant messaging services
